Assessors Award (CYQ Level 3)

A tailor made course for fitness professionals who have to assess both practical and theoretical skills. Learn what makes a good assessment, how to understand the assessment process, how to support anyone sitting an assessment. If your job involves helping your colleagues develop or you want a career as an assessor, this course will give plenty of practical experience.  
 
This Level 3 Award is the preferred qualification for anyone who wishes to assess in the exercise and fitness industry. The CYQ Certificate in Assessing in the Active Leisure Sector qualification is a vocationally related qualification. The module provides the knowledge and skills required to gain the A1 NVQ should you wish to assess in other industries.  
 
You will  
Learn how to assess practical fitness teaching as well as fitness knowledge  
Learn what is needed at the planning and preparation stage for both the candidate and the assessor  
Learn more about vocational qualifications and quality assurance  
Understand national occupational standards (NVQs and RVQs)  
Gain experience assessing competence based qualifications  
Learn how to make accurate judgements  
 
 
Assessment Involves  
 
• Completing an assessment plan for a candidate  
• Conducting an assessment of a practical teaching session  
• Making assessment decisions and giving feedback  
• Completion of worksheets to show understanding of the assessment process.  
 
ILA Funding  
 
You may qualify for financial help towards this course in the form of an Individual Learning Account. To be eligible, you have to be over 18 and live in Wales.  
 
You may be eligible for up to £100 towards the cost of the course if you do not have qualifications higher than GCSE, NVQ2 or BTEC first certificate.
