ADVANCED FITNESS INSTRUCTOR - GYM
A 6 Day course for instructors with Level 2 Exercise & Fitness in Gym Instruction and at least 2 years teaching experience.
This course will further your knowledge and enable you to analyse more advanced training systems.
The Advanced Instructor Course also prepares students to sit the National Level 3 theory paper. This gives Reps recognition at Level 3 for Instructors with Personal Training or GP Referral qualifications.
The course covers:-
Days one, two and three - Advanced Theory
• Advanced theory knowledge and practical application
• Goal setting and behaviour change
Days four, five and six - Programme Design
• CV Training for a wide range of clients
• Training for Strength, Endurance & Hypertrophy
• CRAC & PNF stretching
• Advanced teaching and motivational skills
• Training periodisation
ASSESSMENT
Instructors will be able to put themselves forward for the National Level 3 Theory Paper (awarded by CYQ). The Level 3 theory paper is REPs recognised.
The cost of the course includes practical assessment, theory paper (three day Advanced Theory and six day Combined Course only) and case studies, registration and certification with CYQ.
ILA FUNDING
You may qualify for financial help towards this course in the form of an Individual Learning Account. To be eligible, you have to be over 18 and live in Wales.
If you do not have qualifications higher than GCSE, NVQ2 or BTEC first certificate, you may be eligible for up to £100 towards the cost of the course. If you are applying for an ILA please note that FUNDING MUST BE IN PLACE BEFORE YOU PAY ANY MONEY to Fitness Wales.
If your funding is approved you will receive a training voucher which you should send to Fitness Wales along with your details. When your voucher has been processed by Fitness Wales you will receive a second letter acknowledging that your voucher has been accepted. At this stage your funding is secure and you can book onto the course.
