Older Adult - 60+ (ALIGNED TO LEVEL 3)
There are enormous benefits for older adults in keeping active – but higher risks. Come and learn how to design effective sessions that cater for their needs.
The course covers:
•The ageing process and implications for exercise
•How exercise can help prevent or minimise lifestyles diseases
•The needs of the mature adult
•Advanced teaching skills
It is essential that you have background knowledge of the body and how it works. A recap of anatomy and physiology is useful before you attend the course.
ASSESSMENT
To become a certified Instructor for Older Adults, applicants will have to pass a practical assessment and written lesson plans. Provisonal assessment dates are below. Applicants also have the option of submiting a video presentation* 12 weeks after completion of the Module.
*Please note that there is an additional cost of £30 for video assessment.
