CERTIFICATE IN EXERCISE REFERRAL (LEVEL 3)
Wales is the only European country to have a Government funded project in every local authority area. There has never been better time for instructors to break into this field.
This 6 day course is aimed at Instructors who want to be at the leading edge in terms of referral schemes by obtaining the only REPs recognised qualification.
Pre-Requisite: CYQ regulations state that you need to be on REPs at Level 3 to receive your CYQ Certificate. It may be possible to accredit previous learning (APL).
The Course includes information on a range of illnesses and conditions – such as diabetes and obesity or chronic illnesses such as arthritis and asthma which are all on the increase. You will experience a wealth of practical ideas to help you plan, design and adapt progressive activity programmes for referral clients.
Assessment
Unit 1 Theory includes an externally assessed theory paper and an ‘open book’ worksheet on medications.
Unit 2 Planning a progressive programme for a given client with low risk conditions. You will need to attend a viva to discuss your programme and its implications.
Unit 3 Practical you will be assessed during the course teaching sections of a session for referred clients.
ILA FUNDING
You may qualify for financial help towards this course in the form of an Individual Learning Account. This course may be eligible for ILA funding. To be eligible, you have to be over 18 and live in Wales.
If you do not have qualifications higher than GCSE, NVQ2 or BTEC first certificate, you may be eligible for up to £100 towards the cost of the course. If you are applying for an ILA please note that FUNDING MUST BE IN PLACE BEFORE YOU PAY ANY MONEY to Fitness Wales.
If your funding is approved you will receive a training voucher which you should send to Fitness Wales along with your details. When your voucher has been processed by Fitness Wales you will receive a second letter acknowledging that your voucher has been accepted. At this stage your funding is secure and you can book onto the course.

Courses are run regularly in Cardiff and are demand-led in other parts of Wales. The course is run over six days, these can be run on a consecutive basis or over two/three weeks (ie 2 days a week for 3 weeks). For costs and details of in-house training, please contact us.
